Next, check the following:

1)  Open a new browser session
2)  Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > and scroll down until you see the Security section
3)  Uncheck (if checked) the box titled, "Do not save encrypted pages to disk"

If the User is still having problems, please try clearing the PCs browser cache.

If using Windows Vista, try the following:

Internet Explorer cannot download Query to Excel

ISSUE: When running a query through the web and selecting Run to Excel the users are receiving
the following error:

Internet Explorer cannot download q/ from < domain name >
Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later.

SOLUTION:

1. Check the settings on the WebProfile for the Profile Name used.
 Navigation:
Peopletools-->Web Profile-->Web Profile Configuration.
On the "Caching" tab set the "Cache Generated HTML" and "Cache Homepage" flags to "On" if those are unchecked.

2. Restart the webserver.

Run to Excel in Query Manager window opens then closes

This is due to one of 2 browser settings:

1)  Pop up blocker is enabled.  Need to disable pop up blocker.  On browser go to: Tools > Popup blocker and select disable.  This could be set in your Internet Security settings page.

2)  Browser Security set too high.  To resolve this navigate to:  Tools > Internet options > (Security tab) and on the Security tab select Trusted sites.  Next, add the PeopleSoft domain to Trusted sites.  Then, change the Security setting for Trusted sites from CUSTOM, MEDIUM or HIGH to MEDIUM LOW or LOW.

Or as alternative Workaround :

2b) you could Click on the Security tab. Then for both Internet and Trusted sites. Click on custom level and scroll down to Downloads and set the 'Automatic Prompting for file Downloads' to enabled.
